Dear All
Please find attached a new Frome Branch training programme running
until next Summer, up to and including July 2016
Please can you print off the poster and put it up in your tower for
all to see and forward my email or give copies to all your members who
would benefit or who are interested in attending one or more of the
courses.
We are running the Listening Course again in February. We had several
lovely write-ups including a marvellous one from Sally Monkhouse;
these can be found Frome Branch's Newsletter on the Bath & Wells
website.
Charles Pipe-Wolferston has agreed to run his successful 'Triples -
Grandsire and Stedman' course - this is again in April after Easter.
Margaret Chapman is still working with her recruits from last year's
handbell workshop from last year.
We ran several of our courses as half day courses last year; this
included the Raising and Lowering courses - when some learners chose
to stay all day!
Please let me know if there are any courses which I have missed and
you desperately would like. I have not included initial Introduction
to Handling or Treble Bob hunting. These can be added if enough
people ask for them to be run. Introduction to Handling may best be
carried out in the learners home tower.
Do you struggle to teach your new learners? Do you teach because there
is no-one else who can? Several branch members are now using the ITTS
scheme when teaching a new learner, one or two are already ART
members. We can arrange, through Jill Hansford, for any branch member
to go on a one day Module 1 or 2 training day and to provide a Mentor
to help you if you are new to teaching or the teaching methods are
different from those you have traditionally used. Please let me know
if you are interested.
Remember Andy Mead, our Frome Branch Ringing Master, and Julian Back,
our Deputy Ringing Master are both happy to arrange quarter peals if
you would like help for your learners who are ready to make further
progress by ringing one.
Don't forget the 8 bell Marston Bigot practice towards the end of most
months for your learners to have additional practice with plain
hunting and more, up to Stedman Triples. This is a well-run and much
appreciated practice by Julian Back. Watch out for Andy Mead's more
advanced Surprise practice when and as they are arranged.
I look forward to receiving vast numbers of applications.
